Are you Ready For Eternity?
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3
Do you want to go to Heaven? Do you want to spend eternity with God? Everyone is going to live forever. The question is not if you are going to live forever. The question is where will you live forever. The Apostle Paul described Heaven as being in the presence of [at home with] the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5:6-8. And he wrote that If you have not believed in Jesus, you “will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord,” 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9. Heaven is best described as being eternally in the presence of God … and Hell as being eternally separated from God. Your most important need is to get right with God ... to be sure of a safe and eternal relationship with Him. God offers help to all who come to Him on His terms. What are His terms? What must we do to get right with God? Some men asked Jesus, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” And speaking of Himself, Jesus answered, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent,” John 6:28-29. Believing in Jesus is the eternally important step that each person must take to get right with God. Do you need to get right with God? Are you sure you will go to Heaven?
Think very seriously about your relationship with God. You do not need to make a blind leap of faith. I want to help you be sure that you will go to Heaven. First, I will ask five questions and answer them from the Bible. Then, I will ask the one important question that only you can answer. It is about your relationship with Jesus Christ ... a relationship that begins with a step of faith. Think about what you read here. Take the time to do this. It is eternally important. You need to be sure that you have taken that step. You need to be sure that you ready for eternity.
If you are not sure about your relationship with the one true God [the God of the Bible], then you are at a moment of decision on your road to eternity. Two very different roads are in front of you. Will your eternal destination be Heaven or will it be Hell … at home with God or separated from Him? It is time for you to make the right choice. Have an open mind and open heart as you consider the Bible’s answers to the five questions. Ask God to help you understand. The Gospel is good news. It is God’s good news about what He has done for you ... and it is about what He wants you to do. If you died tonight, are you sure about what would happen next? Are you sure you would open your eyes in Heaven? God has done His part to make it possible for you to be sure that you are in a safe, eternal relationship with Him. However, you need to do your part. Being good is not good enough. Being religious is not enough. You need to take a step of faith to be sure of Heaven. You need to believe in Jesus … the one true way to God. I will answer the first five questions. Then you need to answer the one question that only you can answer.
